Circle Dance
Maggie Hall

Circle Dance is about Unity - the simple joy of being in harmony with a circle of dancing people, moving as one. It can be slow and meditative, faster and energising or lyrical and relaxing, but always beautiful. These simple dance forms have their roots in those parts of the world where people still celebrate life and express unity through dance.
There's no performance pressure and no experience necessary -just be prepared to revitalise your mind, body and spirit. Liberate the dancer within you and have the time of your life. The dances are not physically demanding, so don't worry if you're not super fit and supple, and can be enjoyed by both men and women.

Maggie Hall has been teaching Circle Dance for about 20 years. She has taught at an evening class at Bowring College, and many functions in the UK and USA.

"Clinical" Meditation
Karl Heard

Karl Heard's approach to meditation, which he calls Clinical, differs in some respects to that of followers of religious traditions, such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity and Islam. Hi approach is founded upon the impacts and effects of meditation upon the mind and body, without any religious influences. The brain, nervous, respiratory and vascular systems all show significant benefits when people are guided into states of deep, meditative relaxation. Science has shown in many studies that while the brain is working, it's activity reveals changes in the brain wave levels, particularly when the brain is deeply relaxed.

Karl adopts an eclectic approach, occasionally using visualisations and mantras. He believes that every approach to meditation is based upon the breath, and that anyone can learn to meditate.

Karl Heard first learned to meditate when he was 13. He now teaches meditation, as well as being a Clinical Hypnotist and HypnoBirthing practitioner. His website is karlheardmeditation.co.uk

Fairy Tale and Storytelling Meditations
Ged Thompson

Ged Thompson is a Liverpool-born performance poet, writer and storyteller. He will during this session be discussing a brief history of storytelling throughout the ages via fairy tales, parables, dharma and mystic tales within human culture. He will also be placing emphasis on the healing and cathartic mechanism involved and taking us through some guided fairy tale meditations from his new book.
Ged aims to place a bridge between the two worlds of fairy tale metaphor and meditative healing using subconscious metaphor. Or in more simple terms, brings a little of that magic of childhood back to the adult heart and mind.

Books will be available at £9.99 and those attending can bring whatever makes them comfortable - mats, blankets, bean bags - and feel free to fall asleep if you need to, but if you snore too loudly we will tickle your feet (-:
Note from admin: We can't promise there'll be space for everyone to lie down, so also come prepared to make yourself comfortable on a fairly hard chair.

2nd August 2016 Mantras
Star Webb

A mantra is a word or phrase, or sometimes a longer series of words, which is repeated over and over. It can be chanted out loud or simply repeated mentally. It can be an aid to meditation, keeping the mind free of distracting thoughts. The chanting of mantras, particularly in a group, creates a powerful flow of energy which is soothing and uplifting. In this session Star will teach and lead us in chanting a selection of mantras.

Star Webb has taught Yoga for 25 years. She recognises the power of mantra to protect and liberate the mind, and finds joy in delivering mantra workshops to spiritual development groups.

An introduction to Appreciative Inquiry
Suzanne Quinney

This meeting was cancelled due to heating breakdown. The session will be rearranged at a future date.

Appreciative Inquiry is a way of working with people who have complementary concerns or interests. The aim is to understand people's view of the world, develop new and creative ways of looking at issues, appreciate and value the best of what people have got and then help to make it even better.

Suzanne will summarise the origins and nature of this approach and its links with Positive Psychology, and lead a practical exercise to offer a flavour of its energising and creative potential. For more about Appreciate Inquiry, examples and reference material, see www.appreciatingpeople.co.uk.

Suzanne Quinney is a co-founder of Appreciating People and a trained Appreciative Inquiry practitioner. Her approach is based upon discovering "what works" and building on the strengths of individuals and organisations. Such an approach is being used successfully both in personal development and in the private, community and public sectors to promote and support transformational dialogue at all levels.

Monday's Child - planetary influence and health
Emma McEvoy

Postponed until further notice.

As children we all heard the traditional rhyme:

Monday's child is fair of face
Tuesday's child is full of grace
Wednesday's child is full of woe
Thursday's child has far to go
Friday's child is loving and giving
Saturday's child works hard for a living
The child that is born on the Sabbath day is blithe and bonny, good and gay.

But is there any truth in it? Oddly enough - yes! The week day you are born on affects your life because it is ruled by a planet. This workshop will show you how you can maintain health by supporting your constitution which is related to the day on which you were born and the characteristics of the planet which rules your day. Each day has an organ, emotion, remedy, herb and chakra which you can balance using this method.

Emma McEvoy (BA (Hons), DipHomMed, DSH, MARH) has graduated as both a Classical and Shamanic Homeopath. She is also a Reiki Master and a practitioner of other holistic disciplines.  Her practice, based in Aigburth, has been established for 17 years. For appointments contact 07989 445471 or ems.mcevoy@blueyonder.co.uk or visit her website at www.emmamcevoy.biz

8th November 2016 Working with Archangels and the Languages of Light
Theolyn Cortens

Postponed until further notice.

Theolyn Cortens is an international author and teacher. As a child and during her teenage years, Theolyn was curious about mystical and esoteric subjects. Her aunt introduced her to astrology when she was only nine years old.

Over forty years ago, after learning to meditate, Theolyn had a dramatic experience of spiritual illumination and she has been experiencing expanded states of consciousness ever since. These experiences set her on the path to study the history of human spirituality, especially the story of angelic encounters. At university, Theolyn studied Comparative Religion and Philosophy, and gained a distinction for her Master's degree which focused on Angels in the Kabbalah. For the last three years she has been researching angelic spirituality at the University of Winchester. She has been writing books and teaching  about angels for more than twenty years. In 2001, Theolyn received the inspiration for Shefa Healing, a unique spiritual technology that uses ancient sacred characters and her Simple Meditation mantra technique, to encourage profound transformation.

Theolyn's talk will be packed with information about her work, and will also include opportunities for you to directly experience the possibilities that working with Archangels and with ancient Languages of Light can bring to your life.

* Simple Meditation is the foundation for our spiritual work
* Your Guardian Angel is your Divine Soul Mate and guide
* The Archangels of the Tree of Life are Guardians of the Gates of Light
* Ancient Languages of Light offer high vibration tools for insights and healing
* The Angels Script  messages
* Shefa Healing characters are zera - Seeds of Light that enliven our consciousness

Theolyn will bring a selection of her books and CDs for sale on special prices and will be happy to sign for you - if you already have any of her books, please bring them along for her to sign. For more information about Theolyn's work and to download a free Guide to Shefa Healing and other free content, please visit www.theolyn.com
